Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance: represented by a checkmark badge in blue, embodying trust, reliability, and the assurance that standards are consistently met and independently verified.

There’s a version of quality assurance that exists purely to satisfy regulators. Policies get written, boxes get ticked, reports get filed, and very little actually changes. Many organisations know that version well.

Then there’s quality assurance that actually improves things, that builds systematic processes for maintaining standards, identifies problems before they become failures, and gives learners, employers, and funders genuine confidence in what they’re dealing with. That’s the version we work on.

We establish QA frameworks and conduct rigorous reviews across qualifications, assessments, and digital credentials. Our approach treats compliance as the floor, not the ceiling. The aim is continuous improvement, not just defensible documentation.

Our background in this space runs deep. In the UK we quality assured vocational assessments across more than twenty subject areas. In New Zealand we developed policies and strategies for automated assessment quality assurance. Through George Angus Consulting, we’ve provided independent third-party QA for digital credentials, helping organisations demonstrate credibility that internal sign-off alone can’t achieve. We have also served on the Certification Board for EOCCS, quality assuring MOOCs at an international level.

In the digital credentialing space, we have also partnered with the UK digital credential platform Navigatr on a three-tier QA structure designed to bring greater integrity to digital badging:

🥉Bronze (Self-Review): A three-module online training programme for badge creators, with a QA checklist, interactive quizzes, and a completion badge.

🥈Silver (Peer Review): A live online training session focused on peer-reviewing credentials using the Navigatr QA framework. Participants earn a badge and can display the Silver mark on their credentials, signaling that an independent colleague has reviewed the work.

🥇Gold (Independent Quality Assurance): Full third-party review of learning and assessment against badge criteria. Credentials at this level carry the Navigatr Gold QA mark, the strongest available signal of credential integrity on the platform.

Quality assurance only creates value when it’s credible. That means independence, rigour, and a genuine willingness to identify problems rather than overlook them.
