EfVET in cooperation with WERA, Inner Development Goals and Karanga: The Global Alliance for SEL & Life Skills: Inclusive Vocational Excellence and Wellbeing Webinar Series, presenting ‘Micro-Credentials and AI Supporting Inclusion’, 27th November 2025.
George Angus Consulting presented the final Inclusive Vocational Excellence and Wellbeing webinar of the year focused on two recent pieces of research that we’ve undertaken: Appreciating and Supporting Neurodiversity & AI-Generated Assessments for Vocational Education and Training.
During the session, we discussed some of the striking statistics around neurodiversity and the calls to action outlined in the first report. Our sincere hope is that this work helps drive meaningful societal change, shifting the narrative from “us and them” to a genuine “we.”
We also explored how personalised, AI-enabled assessment design can better support neurodiverse learners, and why rethinking assessment is essential in an AI-rich world. We have an opportunity to design assessments that are authentic, applied, varied, and genuinely reflective of what we want learners to demonstrate. Ultimately, what supports neurodiverse learners supports all learners.

The Australasian Microcredential Network webinar: Unlocking Australia’s Skills Potential: Microcredentials as Tools for National Capability, presenting on ‘Building Cohesive Micro-credential Systems – Insights from India, Philippines, and New Zealand’, 25th November 2025
George Angus Consulting presented in the first session ‘International Perspectives’, of the Australasian Microcredential Network’s 25th November webinar: Unlocking Australia’s Skills Potential: Microcredentials as Tools for National Capability. We spoke about how micro-credentials need to be developed as part of the wider educational ecosystem rather than as a separate element, giving the example of New Zealand who developed a strong micro-credential policy and system, but has become diluted and confused, due in part to developments from other parts of the educational system. The presentation also explored the micro-credential systems of India, and the Philippines, as well as the wider system developments of Spain and Singapore. We are very grateful to the AMCN for the invitation to be a part of this wonderful and informative webinar.

The New Zealand Vocational Education & Training Research Forum (NZVETRF) 2025 in-person at Te Papa, presenting on ‘The Place of Micro-Credentials’, 17 November 2025
George Angus Consulting’s presentation asked the question of (why) do micro-credentials matter, exploring the micro-credential journeys of New Zealand, India, and the Philippines. It then moved on to highlighting that the value of micro-credentials, and any other educational product is in part, based on the way that the system is designed to incorporate and apply it, looking at system designs in Denmark, Singapore, and Spain as examples of good practice. The final part of the presentation focused on the proposed system design that was developed as part of the Food & Fibre CoVE research into dynamic, modular systems. We were delighted at how engaged the audience was, with a great Q&A asking a lot of questions about different elements of the presentation and very grateful to Perry Sue from BCITO for moderating.

We reinforced this by providing some examples of good practice in Denmark, Singapore, and Spain, before talking about the proposed system design that we developed as part of our Dynamic Modular Learning, for further information on this check out our research here: https://georgeangusconsulting.com/publications/
